SuperEgo represents the best red wine made from Therapy Vineyards in a given year.
Winemaking: Ripe grapes from 4 varieties were hand picked and sorted. All grapes were macerated by hand and vinified separately in small 700kg batches. Through a rigorous culling process only the best batches of the best varieties were considered for the blend. After 18 months in 90% New French and 10% New American barriques a final blend was chosen.
Bouquet: Black cherries, black currants, black berries, violets, espresso, licorice and vanilla.
Palate: Very full bodied, with casis, dusty oak complexity, rich mid palate and a long drying medium grained tannin finish.
Alcohol per Volume: 13.5%
Blend: 55% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, 8% Shiraz

Winemaking: Ripe grapes from 5 aromatic varieties were hand picked from our Naramata vineyards and pressed to stainless steel fermenters. The varieties were cold fermented separately before final blending in the Spring.
Bouquet: Orange blossom, rose petals and apricots.
Palate: Lychee, mango and lemon peel with rich citrus fruit intensity and a crisp finish. (1)

PINK FREUD 2007 ($18.99)

Winemaking; Ripe red grapes were hand harvested then destemmed and crushed. The fruit was then left on skins for between 12 and 24 hours. Free-run juice was fermented separately in stainless steel tanks to make the traditional style.
Bouquet: Raspberries, black currants, vanilla, strawberries and cream.
Palate: Rich and fruit driven with soft red berried intensity and a dry finish.

Blend: 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 15% Shiraz, 5% Pinot Noir
GEWÜRZTRAMINER 2007 ($19.99)
Winemaking: Very ripe grapes were hand harvested, destemmed and crushed into the press. The grapes were left on skins for 4 hours and then lightly pressed to stainless steel tanks for fermentation.
Bouquet: Rose petals with tropical flavours of lychee fruit, fresh mangoes and pineapple.
Palate: Fruit salad intensity, viscous mouth feel and long rich finish. (0)

PINOT GRIS 2007 ($23.99)

Winemaking: Ripe Pinot Gris grapes were hand harvested from our Naramata vineyards. Grapes were destemed and gently pressed. Settled juice was barrel fermented (cold), then stirred on lees for 5 months prior to bottling.
Bouquet: Ripe peaches, dried apricots, citrus overtones and a subtle yet creamy oak complexity.
Palate: Full bodied with rich stone fruit intensity and a clean dry cashew nut finish.

Blend: 100% Pinot Gris
Artist Viognier 2007 ($22.99)

Winemaking: Ripe Viognier was destemmed and pressed to barrel for fermentation. The wine was stirred for 5 months before Spring bottling.
Bouquet: Dried apricots, pears, orange blossom.
Palate: Rich and viscous with strong tropical flavours of mango, jasmine and marmalade.

FREUD'S EGO 2006 ($19.99)
Winemaking: The different varieties of red grapes were hand harvested when fully ripe, and fermented separately in small open fermenters. The wines were pressed to a mix of French and American oak barriques. The wines spent 10 months in barrel before blending and bottling.
Bouquet: Black currants, chocolate, vanilla.
Palate: Rich and full bodied with ripe berry fruited oak driven complexity.
Alcohol per Volume: 13.0%
Blend: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot

MARCUS ANSEMS SHIRAZ 2006 ($31.99)
Winemaking: Ripe Shiraz grapes were hand harvested and destemed into small open fermenters. The grapes were hand macerated and pressed to new French barriques. The wine spent 19 months in barrel before bottling.
Bouquet: Black fruits, blackberries and Peppery spice.
Palate: Very full bodied with flavours of black cherries, blackberries, dusty oak, black pepper and chocolate like complexity.
